Harman Baidwan

Volunteer

Hello, I'm Harman Baidwan, a Grade 11 student in Calgary. My interests revolve around climate and plants, driven by a deep appreciation for nature. I'm also into computer science and have been involved in developing a website that aligns with my environmental concerns. In 2022, I joined Mr. Om Parkash on a trip to Himachal Pradesh, where I contributed to planting Chandan tree saplings. This hands-on experience further fueled my passion for environmental causes. During the trip, I also had the opportunity to practice my public speaking, gaining valuable skills. I really appreciate the opportunity to blend my passion for the environement and web development.

The Importance of Herbal Plants

Helps you sleep better

Herbal plants such as chamomile and valerian contain natural compounds that interact with receptors in the brain, promoting relaxation and inducing a calming effect, ultimately aiding in a more restful sleep.

Decreases anxiety & depression

Certain herbal plants like lavender and passionflower have been found to possess properties that can help alleviate anxiety and depression by modulating neurotransmitters in the brain, contributing to a sense of tranquility and emotional well-being.

Reduces stress levels

Herbal plants like adaptogenic herbs (e.g., ashwagandha and holy basil) have adaptogenic properties that may help regulate the body's stress response, reducing cortisol levels and promoting a balanced emotional state.

Improves attention & concentration

Through their influence on neurotransmitters and cognitive function, herbal plants such as ginkgo biloba and rosemary are believed to enhance concentration and attention, providing a natural means to improve cognitive performance.

""I believe in the magic of herbal plants; they whisper the secrets of nature, healing not just the body, but the spirit too."
